Sarthe is home to several flagship companies in the food processing industry, among them the Fermiers de Loué, who belongs to LDC group. The poultry market leader employs over 23,000 people all around the world and generates a turnover of €4,4 billion (2021).
Often the scene of pioneering endeavours in the automotive industry, the area also boasts several major players in the sector, namely Renault, Claas and Johnson Controls. THE “GOOD NEWS” CAMPAIGN

The “Good news comes from Sarthe” campaign devised by Sarthe Me Up was aired in thirteen, 15-second advertisements on news channel BFM TV and featured the department’s flagship businesses Les Fermiers de Loué, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, La Flèche zoo, Leblanc Illuminations and the bookshop Bulle.
